Ian's expertise draws upon an extensive background in technology commercialisation, management, and research. He is also a Venture Partner at Allen & Buckeridge Venture Capital. Over his career, Ian has been Founding CEO of RPO Inc and 6 other start-ups, Vice President, Business Development for Redfern Photonics, Corporate R&D Manager at James Hardie Corporation, International R&D Manager and other line Management Roles at Memtec Ltd., Director of Maxwell Chemtek Pty Ltd. and Founding CEO of the Key Centre for Polymer Colloids at the University of Sydney. Ian was also a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, Eindhoven. Ian has a PhD & BSc in Chemistry from the University of Sydney. He has authored seven book chapters and more than thirty five research publications and holds more than forty patent families in various disciplines.

Robert was previously a Research Fellow at the University of NSW, and prior to that a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where he co-developed BT Imaging's core technology with Thorsten Trupke. He holds a BSc and a PhD in Physics from the University of Melbourne. His main areas of expertise are in: semiconductor physics; device physics; optical and electrical characterisation of photovoltaic materials and devices. Robert has a comprehensive and well-cited academic paper publication record, and also a significant patent portfolio.

David Landers joined A&B in 2000, initially to manage the ePark Direct Equity Fund, an incubator of information technology industries ventures funded by a Commonwealth Government program. Since 2003 he has had lead responsibility for A&B's $51 million A&B Emerging Technologies Funds. This fund has now committed funds to 14 investments based upon intellectual property arising from R&D efforts within major research universities, government research organisations and corporate research labs in Australia. David also serves as an executive director of the general partner of a $30 million Companion Fund to the ETF that invests selectively in ETF portfolio companies after the completion of the seed financing stage.

David was executive vice president of sales and chief financial officer of AFL Ltd, a manufacturing business he co-founded in Shanghai and Beijing from 1995 to 1998, which was subject of a trade sale to a major UK based multinational. Prior to that he was the Asia regional head of M&A for Pepsi Cola International, where he completed close to $1 billion in acquisition and joint venture transactions.

Earlier, he gained over five years experience in technology driven strategy development and implementation for clients of Booz Allen & Hamilton throughout the Asia Region.

He has an MBA in International Business from the New York University Stern School of Management and is an honours graduate of the International Management Program at the Stockholm School of Economics. He received his undergraduate degree with distinction from the School of Entrepreneurial Management, Babson College, in Boston, USA.

David has over 25 years' experience managing the research, development and commercialization of semiconductor devices and engineering systems.

Currently, at the University of New South Wales ARC Photovoltaics Centre of Excellence, he is responsible for the development and deployment of the Centre’s advanced photovoltaic technology. He is also a Non Executive Director of BluGlass Limited, an ASX listed Australian technology startup company developing and commercializing specialized Gallium Nitride manufacturing technology. Before that David was founding CEO of Bluglass Limited.

He was previously at BP Solar for over 20 years in a variety of roles. His most recent role was as senior Manufacturing and Technology Advisor, with responsibility for managing the global link between diverse research groups and high volume semiconductor manufacturing in various countries. Other responsibilities included involvement with identifying and prioritising support for near and mid-term global R&D, auditing global technology implementation and manufacturing capacity expansion, and developing strategic alliances with vendors of manufacturing equipment.

David spent several years with Philips Microelectronics in Adelaide working on silicon chip and ceramic hybrid custom circuitry before moving to photovoltaics. For several years in the mid 1990’s, David was also Business and Technology Manager for photovoltaic devices at the University of New South Wales Photovoltaics Special Research Centre.

David holds a BSc in Chemistry and Mathematics, with Honours in chemistry, from the University of New England (UNE) and a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Western Australia (UWA), with Honours in novel silicon device fabrication.
